Gnr. James Wright Loses Life in Italy
Mr. And Mrs. N. S. Wright of Little Britain, formerly of Irondale in Glamorgan Township, have been notified of the death of their son, Gnr. James Sampson Wright, who was killed in action in Italy on Sept. 4th.
Gnr. Wright’s father is a veteran of the last Great War, having spent over four years overseas. He has also been active with the Veterans’ Guard of Canada for the past four years and three months in various parts of Canada and in United States. Recently he was discharged as medically unfit for service.

GNR. JAMES S. WRIGHT OF LITTLE BRITAIN KILLED
Corporal S. Wright, recently discharged as medically unfit from the Veterans' Guard of Canada and now resident at Little Britain called at the Post to say that he has received word of his son's death in Italy. He was killed in action the message stated and gave no further details.
Gnr. James S. Wright is his son's name and he enlisted on Sept. 13, 1939 with the 45th Field Battery, RCA, at Lindsay. After receiving training in Lindsay, Kingston and Petawawa he proceeded overseas with his unit in November 1940. Shortly after his arrival in England he joined the 7th Montreal Field Battery.
Going with the 1st Division, Canadian Army to Sicily he fought through that campaign and remained with his unit on the Italian front until death. It is thought by his father that he was on the immediate front sector.
Cpl. Wright father of the boy has served four years and 3 months on the Veterans' Guard and was discharged recently as medically unfit. Another brother is with the same unit In Italy and two brothers are in Canada. Two sisters are also at home and one of them along will her brother works at the Dominion Arsenal here.
